You Need to Start Selling Your Unused Items ASAP!
I bet you that if you looked around your house for less than five minutes, you could find at least five items you haven’t touched in months. In the age of mega unboxings and mass consumerism, we all have way too much stuff. I’ve been going to the same hairdresser for several years now. And every time I go, we somehow end up talking about selling items on Vinted. And every time I say I should do it, I never do. But last summer, I finally dove into the world of selling online. And it’s been worth it.
I Thought It Was More Complicated Than It Is
I always thought it would be more complicated than it is. My app of choice is Vinted. But there are so many secondhand selling platforms, depending on where you live. I know there’s Depop, Poshmark, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Marktplaats, and so many more.
I know that Vinted is quite popular here in Europe and very user-friendly, so that’s the app I chose to use. And I’m pretty sure they just expanded into the USA.

How to Sell Your Unused and Unwanted Items
All you have to do is take pictures of the item, upload them, choose the item type in the listing, specify the brand, size, material, condition, and other details about the product. Some specifications must be filled in, while others are optional. And then you upload the listing. It’s that easy!
People can bid a lower price on the item, and you can choose to negotiate with them or just decline their offer. It’s up to you. Once someone buys a product, the shipping label or QR is automatically generated and sent to you. The buyer pays for shipping. You package the item and send it off. Vinted will show you the nearest drop-off point. You’ll get your money once the person confirms they received the item and that everything is in good condition.
Some Tips I Can Give You
If an item fails to sell, I advise you to delete the listing and just reupload it. Yes, the exact same listing. Sometimes it’s the wrong time of day, or the algorithm didn’t push it out enough, or the wrong audience saw it, or whatever. Make sure to include as many photos as possible. And make sure they aren’t blurry or dark.
Share your account with your friends and family. Maybe they want to buy one or even a few of your items. You never know. You can list pretty much anything. Look at the categories and see everything people have listed. I’ve listed a candle, used bras, partly used hair products, clothing, shoes, and more. But there’s so much more you can sell. The possibilities are endless.
Expensive Items Can Sell Too
The most expensive item I ever sold were Memery sandals for 80 euros. But there are items on Vinted that are a lot more expensive. So don’t be afraid to list more expensive items. The cheapest item I sold was a partly used salt hair spray for 1 euro. So there’s a world of possibilities when it comes to what can sell.

If you’re not sure how much to list something for, Vinted often suggests a price based on what you entered for the brand, material, size, condition, etc. You can also just browse Vinted yourself to see about how much you want to sell an item for.
You’ll Become a Pro in No Time
Don’t be afraid to list items for a bit more than you want them to sell for. Most of the time, people will try to negotiate the price down. And stand your ground about the price you want, but also be reasonable. Consider the item’s condition, the material, and how rare it is, etc. The more often you list and sell items, the easier it’ll get.

Don’t say you don’t have the time to sell your items. We all know we spend too much time scrolling on the internet, especially on social media. Do yourself a favor and carve out some of that scrolling time to make some of the money back you’ve spent. You’ll be happy you did.
