Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken

Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken

Whoever created the barbecue flavor was a genius, because it is so delicious. One of my favorite dishes growing up was oven-baked barbecue chicken wings. Meat and poultry were a rarity in my home growing up, so when we had meat or poultry, it was always a treat. Once a week, on Saturday, the holy day of Shabbos, we got to eat some kind of meat or poultry dish, usually that was chicken wings.

My family would make chicken wings baked in the oven with tons of barbecue sauce and usually some veggies like potatoes. We usually used Jack Daniels barbecue sauce. I can’t find Jack Daniels barbecue sauce in the Netherlands, so now I use whatever BBQ sauce I can get. Right when the wings were done baking, we’d crank up the temp so the chicken wings broiled and got super crispy on top. Best meal ever.

  1. Chicken Wings (or whatever part of the chicken you have)
  2. Barbecue Sauce
  3. Salt
  4. Potatoes
  5. Zucchini

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (177C).
  2. Chop the potatoes and zucchini.
  3. Put the potatoes and zucchini in the baking pan. Add the chicken wings on top.
  4. Spread barbecue sauce on the wings and some on the veggies.
  5. Salt everything.
  6. Cover the wings & veggies with foil.
  7. Bake for 35 to 50 minutes.
  8. Once it’s baked, uncover the wings (take the foil off the top) and turn your oven on broil.
  9. Broil the chicken wings and veggies for 5 to 10 minutes.
  10. Once the chicken wings are crispy on top, the food is ready.

Enjoy the delicious wings!
